On 23-24 May, the Catapulso acceleration event, organized by SIT Port, took place in TechTower in Pilsen. Two intense days full of ideas, project work, mentoring and presentations showed that there are many talented and determined innovators growing in Pilsen and its surroundings.
The jury's top prize went to the Swipeff team, which creates a platform for sharing learning materials and knowledge among students. Their solution impressed not only for its timeliness, but also for its practical benefits for students' daily lives. Congratulations to the whole team for the win and fingers crossed for the further development of the project!
As Guava, we had the privilege of being part of Catapulse as mentors and also awarded a special Guava Prize. We decided to dedicate it to the Voxity team who came up with an innovative solution for more effective voting in municipalities within participatory budgets. We believe that digitizing and simplifying these processes can have a great impact on citizen participation in decision-making and transparency in public administration.
As a startup, we once stood at a similar beginning - an idea, a lot of questions and a desire to make a difference. We believe that it is events like this that give talented people the chance to get the feedback, contacts and support they need in the beginning. That's why this year we offered individual app development consultations to all participants and we are glad we could be part of this inspiring atmosphere.
Thanks to SIT Porto for the great organization and to all participants for the energy with which they embarked on Catapulse. We are already looking forward to the next edition and to new projects that will push the business environment in our region a step further.
