Built a few floors up.

TechTower is one of the most modern technology parks in the Czech Republic: ten thousand square metres in a converted Pilsen brewery, housing startups, student innovators and established tech companies. It is run by the city of Pilsen's IT organisation through its SIT Port programme.

SIT Port's philosophy is to back young local talent and use their solutions instead of buying off the shelf. So rather than licensing a generic community platform, they commissioned Guava, a startup working from inside TechTower itself. The app for Pilsen's young tech community was built by members of that community, a few floors up.

“Give young talent trust, a chance and an opportunity. And use what they build.”
— THE SIT PORT PHILOSOPHY
// 02 THE CHALLENGE

One building, no shared space.

Hundreds of students, freelancers and companies shared one roof, but no digital one. SIT Port needed a single platform covering the whole member experience, and its administration, across mobile, web and on-site hardware.

/ 01 News reached members unevenly.
/ 02 Event sign-ups and document sharing lived in scattered tools.
/ 03 Coworking membership was tracked by hand, in a spreadsheet.
/ 04 Six call boxes, and no booking system at all.
// 03 WHAT WE BUILT

A platform with four faces.

/ 01

Mobile app

A private social network for the community: message board, events with registration, a document library, job postings, member profiles and push notifications so nothing gets missed.

iOS Android Push
/ 02

Call box booking

Booths booked from the app, or on wall-mounted tablets running in locked-down kiosk mode. Walk-up bookings need no account: tap the tablet, take the booth for 15, 30 or 60 minutes.

Membership automation

Admins upload the city-issued invoice PDF; the system reads the due date and QR payment code from the document, emails the member, tracks who has paid and sends the reminders itself.

PDF extraction QR payment Reminders
/ 04

Admin interface

One Filament dashboard where the SIT Port team manages content, events, members and bookings in a single place.

Filament One place
// 04 THE RESULTS

Numbers from the building.

287 REGISTERED USERS
2,400+ BOOKINGS · 14 MONTHS
~220 BOOKINGS A MONTH · RECENT
< 6 MONTHS TO LAUNCH

And membership billing runs without the spreadsheet: payment tracking, invoice emails and reminders handle themselves. The only manual step left is the one that can't be automated: the city issuing the invoice.

“…the new SIT Port mobile app, which we use to strengthen communication across our community.”
