In 2025, we created the SIT Port App, a mobile social network for SIT Port and the TechTower coworking centre community. As part of this project, we designed and implemented a comprehensive mobile app for both iOS and Android. Our goal was to simplify internal communication and membership management, so we used a modern technology stack and a clear user interface. We built the solution to provide members with quick access to important information, while also significantly saving administrators' time.
For the server side, we chose a robust PHP framework, Laravel, which provided a reliable and secure backend for the client's demanding requirements. The iOS and Android mobile apps were developed in the Ionic Framework using Capacitor, which allowed us to create a fast cross-platform app. We implemented the administration interface using the modern Filament framework, which provides administrators with intuitive data management tools. This modern technological foundation guarantees stability, scalability, and easy further development of the application.
The SIT Port mobile app offers a wide range of features for coworking center members:
Message board: a central area for publishing news and internal announcements where members can share news and comment on others' posts.
Events: an overview of planned events and happenings in TechTower with the possibility to register or book for events.
Document Library: a place to store important documents and materials accessible to all members (guidelines, manuals, presentations, etc.).
Job postings and enquiries: a section used to share job postings or service offers among community members.
User profiles: each member has a profile with contact details and a description, making it easier to network and collaborate.
Notifications: a push notification system informing users of new messages, event reminders or booking approvals.
Membership management: a module for recording and updating the status of members, which is fully automated and integrates with the administrative part.
Call box booking system: allows members to easily book a call box directly in the application. Also included is a tablet application for quick booking. The tablet is then located at each callbox for instant entry of new bookings.
Administrators have an extensive administration interface where all content and users of the platform can be completely managed. In the clear administration created in Filament, you can:
Manage users and memberships (approve new members, edit roles and permissions),
approve and moderate message board posts and new events,
manage the events calendar, documents, and job offers/requests shared within the community,
create callboxes and assign them to different roles,
Check and edit call box reservations.
In this way, we have ensured that the management of the entire platform is simple and straightforward for the SIT Port team, which significantly streamlines day-to-day operations.
Thanks to the deployed solution, the client gained a number of significant benefits:
Automated membership management: processing, membership setup and member registration is done systemically, which has resulted in significant time savings for administrators.
Modernization of internal communication: the new mobile platform has enabled fast and efficient information sharing among members, fostering better collaboration and community spirit within TechTower.
